Two installation scenarios are considered: sandy seabed with locally sourced sand ballast (μ = 0.60, ρ = 1800 kg/m³), and rocky seabed with locally sourced rock ballast (μ = 0.75, ρ = 2600 kg/m³).
Conclusion: Required ballast decreases strongly with water depth. Rocky sites require substantially less ballast due to both higher seabed friction and the higher density of rock ballast. Sliding is the governing stability condition in both scenarios.
